Latest Antique Finds

We’ve doing a lot of antique shopping recently to fill in missing items in clients’ floor plans  and just to give our spaces a more eclectic mix of old and new (always our goal!). Below is a lamp shaped like a stack of books from the 1940′s. I spotted this piece last week, fell in love,  and had to go back and buy it for myself 24 hours later. I bought the perfect oval lampshade that balances the angular-ness of the lamp well. This was one of a pair of metal, faux bamboo armchairs. All these chairs need is a great seat cushion and they’re ready to go! The profile of these chairs is what initially attracted me to them. The turned-in back legs are super fun.A wrought iron coffee table with rattan and glass top. We liked the mix of the hard, industrial (metal frame) with the soft and organic (rattan top). It was a good price too at $1,100. This coffee table has definitely been the piece de resistance of our recent antiquing trips. It’s an early 1900′s glass top coffee table with snake sculpture legs. Apparently it’s a real collectible, museum quality piece. I would love to know more about the history behind this piece…That’s one fierce coffee table! With an equally fierce price tag ($20,000!).This is an Italian wall mounted console with great ribbon detail base. This piece is so special and I’m surprised it’s still at this store (I saw it here almost a year ago). One of the things on our shopping list was little cocktail tables. This little Greek key table would be a great piece to place next to any seating in your living room. We can’t stand it when there aren’t enough surfaces for people to put their drink down on so we always stock up on little tables like this.Another great little cocktail table…We’re including this set of nesting tables in one of our upcoming client presentations. They are painted a creamy white with very subtle gold detailing. We like these tables because they are streamlined, elegant, and most importantly extremely flexible. We love carved shell form gilt mirrors. This one is particularly beautiful. A detail of the gorgeous ruffled edges…Another carved shell form mirror with a pretty olive green frame.
Have you found any great pieces recently? Happy weekend!
