Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you all had a happy Christmas Eve and are enjoying a little time off from work (we sure are!). Here are a few snaps from our festivities last night…Suzanne’s sister and her family came over for dinner last night and we made boulliabase with warm crusty bread (yum!). We have SO many sets of china, glassware, and napkins, but we never have enough of one when we have a big dinner party. So, we try to embrace this lack of one style tableware and mix them all together in a way that (hopefully!) looks chic. Last night we threw on a tablecloth we picked up a Home Goods for $10 and layered over that a Pottery Barn runner we’ve had forever. A few different blue glass bottles collected from trips to Brimfield held what was left of the hydrangea from the week before (see them in their first life here). Nothing is more romantic, or easier to do, then a scattering of low, clear votives. Lastly, we fished out some chalkboard name tags from Martha Stewart’s collection for Home Depot et voila! Sometimes the best table settings are the ones you don’t plan ahead for.

Jack got a guitar for Christmas and after dinner Suzanne serenaded us for a bit with some of her favorite songs. Who knew?!Have a great day, everyone!
