So this is a project we have yet to share on the blog before, mostly because we haven’t had a chance to have it professionally shot. But now it’s more than a year from finishing it, and there are so many pretty elements of this apartment that we want to share, even if the pictures are terrible quality and taken with a (gasp!) iPhone 3. This is the Upper East Side apartment of a lovely woman who works in advertising that we got adore and loved working with on her first New York City apartment. Our favorite purchase for this space is these incredible barrel back chairs. We have never been able to find anything else like them and covet them for ourselves!
We had a window seat built to provide extra seating but to also cover up a radiator and add a few shelves to display books and little objects. The fabric on the seat is one of our favorite Clarence House fabrics. This apartment was all about being a soothing place, using neutrals with pops of plum and purple. We used an absolutely gorgeous, shimmery hand-woven Rodarte for Knoll fabric for the roman shades which unfortunately you can’t appreciate with the quality of this photo.
You can see the Rodarte roman shade fabric a little bit better in this picture, below.
To the left of the fireplace we put this great upholstered console with drawers and a few Ellsworth Kelly prints torn from one of his books we purchased at the Strand.
The dining room of this apartment was quite tricky because it was also the entryway of the apartment. To make this space feel a little more formal and special, we papered it with one of our favorite GP & Baker wallpapers.
There was a tiny little alcove on one wall that perfectly fit this bar cart from Serena & Lily.
Again, we apologize for the poor photo quality, but we’ve been wanting to share this sweet space for quite sometime. Happy Wednesday guys!
