The Swedes really do get good design (IKEA, anyone?). Some of my favorite new bracelets are by LITTMARCK Swedish Treasure and Design, founded in 2006 by designer Maja Littmarck. Colored leather bands topped with a sparkly braid of tin and silver, and secured with a button made out of reindeer antlers (!), these bracelets really are unique (I have one in navy blue and I wear it everyday). Right now, they are mostly sold in Sweden, but check out their site because they can be purchased at a select few online stores. Their reasonable price point makes them a great gift!
