diy: harvest wreath
Making your own wreath for the holiday season this year is a must. It’s so much cheaper than buying one ready-made, and they couldn’t be easier to customize to reflect your signature style. The harvest wreath we made satisfied all of our requirements: 1. It can be put together in less than thirty minutes, 2. All of the materials can be bought in one location, and 3. The total cost is under $25. Done and done. This one is so easy you could whip it together with friends over cocktails on a Thursday night! For our materials, we went directly to Michael’s Craft store as they have a gigantic selection of faux flowers. We chose faux pussy willows and red and white berries for our wreath, but here’s where your personal style comes in. There are so many gorgeous and life-like flowers to choose from. This wreath is made of twigs, and many of the branches can simply be tucked into the grooves in between, but a glue gun and twig-covered wire come in handy, too.

We know not everyone has time for a craft project (even though this one is super fast and easy!), so below are two really beautiful wreaths found in stores at West Elm. The twig wreath is very on trend with all of the primitive designs we’ve been seeing lately. And who doesn’t like sparkle!? The wreath at right looks like a cluster of tiny disco balls!

I am excited to try a new festive wreath style this holiday season. Thanks for the ideas and DIY project! I will have to shop around at the craft store and come home to make something fabulous!
The White House wreaths are beautiful but, I imagine, very heavy with all the fruit on them…
That potato wreath is unreal! Makes me want to begin foraging for unique decor – it’s that time!
cannot believe you made the wreath for $25…..it looks so good. how did you attach it to the mirror?
Thanks! We used our favorite tool, duct tape to adhere the ribbon to the back of the mirror. Works every time!
love the pepper wreath against the red door-hot and spicy!
